Gin & Fable | Falling Forward

Posted on May 17, 2025May 17, 2025 by Gin

I have found my partner for my ride across Australia! Introducing …

Fable

He is a 5½ year old, 14.2 hand, black Brumby gelding from Kosciusko National Park/the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales. I landed in Melbourne on February 22nd and have been working with him ever since, over the span of three months.

We will be officially leaving for our journey on May 20th, 2025, which happens to mark the 3-year anniversary of my start date crossing the U.S. with Finley!

Going forward, I will be posting primarily on Facebook. Once we hit the road, I hope to publish daily reports and, in the meantime, I am sharing my continued training with Fable. Thus, my website will serve as a record of my past adventures more so than a present account of what I’m up to!

Fantastic work you have done with the Brumby Fable . Wishing you both a safe and great ride across Australia. Watch out for the camels 🐪 when you get to cross the Nullarbor. Will be watching out for your messages.
    God be with you.

Who knew a Brumby and a rider could make such a dynamic duo? 🐎🚀 Cant wait to see if Fable outsmarts the camels or if Gin becomes the Aussie version of Dances with Horses! 🤠🌏 Keep us posted, Gin!

I just saw your post on Perth Jobs and think you are just an incredible human and horsewoman! Wishing you all the very best. The south west of Western Australia is simply magical. I hope you have the best time and enjoy your beautiful backyard. I am a horse owner & lover and you certainly have guts and determination to do this with your beloved Fable. Enjoy the rest of your journey.

Wow! I had no idea that Gin was such a seasoned adventurer when I met her at Caiguna on the edge of the Nullabor Plain in remote Western Australia 2 weeks ago.

I posted a little video interview of Gin and Fable on my youtube channel at https://youtu.be/Dx7fTyzskko?si=M0JednT6QQcNggK-

I will be following Gin and Fable on their further adventures.
    Safe Riding!
